Overview
Hailing from Switzerland but now based in North Carolina, brothers Jens Kruger (banjo, vocals) and Uwe Kruger (guitar, vocals) began performing in childhood and since 1989 have teamed with bassist Joel Landsberg for a sound that infuses classical music into folk and bluegrass. Jens is a recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo & Bluegrass and a member of the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame. Growing to a quartet with the addition of mandolinist Jonah Horton in 2025, the Kruger Brothers personify the spirit of exploration and innovation at the heart of the American musical tradition.
