An Indianapolis Halloween

Goblins, ghouls, and ghosts - oh my!

Explore Indy’s best family-friendly Halloween events sure to get you in the spooky spirit. This Halloween season, Indy is brewing a cauldron of family-friendly fun that's sure to enchant visitors of all ages. From charming corn mazes to thrilling costume parties, our city has something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're a spooky ghost, a wicked witch, or a friendly vampire, there's a magical adventure waiting for you in Indy this Halloween.

First thing's first; it wouldn't be an Indianapolis Halloween without the city's most renowned festival. The 78th Historic Irvington Halloween Festival is a week of events including Spooky Organ Music, a run, a costume ball, contests, Halloween-themed movies, storytelling, ghost tours, live theater, bike rides, a haunted puppet show, and dozens of other events. The Festival culminates on Saturday, October 26, with a street fair which includes over 120 vendors, live-music, and a costume parade.

For family-friendly fun, dig into a spook-tacular lineup of events at some of Indy's most iconic attractions. At Newfields, the enchantment of autumn takes center stage with their captivating Harvest Nights celebration. Wander through illuminated landscapes, meander amidst enchanting sculptures, and take in the breathtaking beauty of the season. Or, for those craving adventure, Conner Prairie beckons with its colossal corn maze, where twists and turns await amid towering stalks. And when the sun sets, brace yourself for the legendary Headless Horseman festival—a heart-pounding spectacle of eerie tales, spooky encounters, and a thrilling chase through the darkness. Indy's youngest adventurers will find a Halloween haven at The Children's Museum, where imagination knows no bounds at The Children's Museum Guild's Haunted House, BOOville. And at the Indiana State Museum, Fred the Mastodon and his friends are hosting their annual Halloween party at the museum and you’re invited! Bring your family and friends and dress in your most creative costume at Night at the Boo Bash.
