Kid-Friendly Restaurants

It's five o'clock and your kids are hungry. Where to go that everyone in the family will like? Tonight, skip the drive-thru and the pizza box and enjoy a good meal with the family. Here are a few of our top picks for the little ones to enjoy an evening out to eat. These restaurants have turned “kid-friendly” into an art form.

Hollyhock Hill

hollyhock

Hollyhock Hill is a charming country-style restaurant in an old cottage near Broad Ripple Village. Served family-style, guests will feel right at home around large dining room tables with down-home comfort food as the centerpiece, including Hoosier pan-fried chicken, whipped potatoes, green beans, buttered corn, country gravy and homemade biscuits. We know the kids are hungry now! Every dinner starts with salad, apple butter and fresh biscuits, followed by the main entree and if you have enough room, the make-your-own ice cream sundaes are simply delightful.

Baby's

Baby's

Serving as a casual, fun spot for families and cocktail enthusiasts, Baby’s specializes in smash burgers, mac & cheese, and milk shakes while giving a wink to the past. Did we mention you could make your milkshake boozy?

Traders Point Creamery

Traders Point

Traders Point is a true farm-to-table dining experience. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the pastures before they head into the restaurant to try the finest organic and local ingredients, many straight from the farm. Children love Traders Point’s signature mac n’ cheese, grilled cheese, cottage cheese, and chocolate milk.

Taxman Brewing- CityWay

Taxman Brewing- CityWay

This gastropub and beergarden is in an 1850s livery building in the heart of downtown Indy. This family friendly pub features three full-service bars with a seasonal menu from local and regional farmers. Don’t forget your four-legged family members, their outdoor patio is pet friendly!

Mug N' Bun

Mug N Bun

Located in Speedway, Mug N' Bun has been an Indianapolis favorite for more than 50 years. Load up the kids and enjoy a good meal at this classic American drive-in. Whether you eat in the car or let the kids run in the picnic area, their hamburgers, hot dogs and fries paired with a root beer float will give your kids memories for years to come.

Liter House

Liter House

An Indianapolis brewpub focused on classic German beer styles and midwestern farm-to-table food mentality meets a German beer hall vibe. A great place to redeem your Indy Craft Pass, or to host your next event!

Mashcraft Brewery

BRU Burger Bar

The whole family will love BRU Burger. From the Mexicali BBQ to Ahi Tuna, adults enjoy the adventure that BRU’s adds to the classic hamburger. Try the “burger snack” for a smaller (but filling) portion or the vegan quinoa burger for a fan-favorite meatless option. The younger crowd will enjoy the $6 kids’ meal with a choice of entree, fries, and a soft drink. Remember to save room for BRU’s famous hand-dipped milkshakes!
