Gen Con, the largest and longest-running gaming convention in North America, invites gamers to try the official pizza, meat, and beer of the 51st convention this August 2-5.
Back this year, Hot Box will have two booths on the west block of Georgia Street, as well as their permanent location (30 E. Georgia St.), all serving Dungeons & Drizzles Pie, a mac n cheese pizza. Patrons have a choice of fire (aka #teambuffalo) or ice (aka #teamranch) drizzle.
Gen Con is also teaming up with local meatery Smoking Goose for an official meat of Gen Con.
“Our new Dragon Fire Bacon starts with West Fork's 3rd Degree Whiskey. Aged on cinnamon and hot chili peppers here in Indianapolis, the spirit's toasty heat infuses whole pork bellies before we smoke 'em over sweet fruit wood.”
And the party doesn’t end there. Smoking Goose is also creating a custom andouille sausage.
“Our sausage collaboration isn't for beginners. We're at Epic Level with these one-pound sausage loops laced with scorpion peppers, one of the world's hottest chilies. Mace, cloves, and thyme ring in the smoldering fire of those peppers, so the sweet, smoky pork comes through the intense and layered heat,” said Corrie Cook Quinn of Smoking Goose.
Attendees can purchase both bacon and andouille sausage while supplies last at Goose the Market (2503 N. Delaware St.), Oca at Sun King Brewing Co. (135 N. College Ave.), and Oca at Sun King Spirits (351 Monon Blvd., Carmel).
Wash down the pizza and bacon with a can of Sun King Brewing Co.’s “Everlasting Gamer,” the official beer of Gen Con 2018. Head to Georgia Street on Wednesday, August 1, for a 21-and-over beer tapping and free concert featuring hard rock duo Local H and Indianapolis favorites Brother O’ Brother. A Gen Con badge is not required to attend the Gen Con Block Party on Georgia Street, concert, or Sun King beer tapping.
Come hungry, Gen Con. The official tastes of Gen Con are ready.
