Near Eastside Passport

Near East Area Renewal (NEAR) supports a large group of wonderful small business on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis.  Our latest project is the New Near Eastside Passport!

In the Summer of 2022, we held our annual Raiders of the Lost Antiques, a one day event celebrating our Antique & Thrift stores in the area with a one-day Passport. This new Passport is a new extension.

Customers are invited to choose from 25 Participating Business to support. If they visit 15 businesses, the reward is a $50 gift card donated by each business (with a purchase). The sooner you complete the passport, the more prize options available. Passports were made available on Monday, January 9th and the program is available until the end of February or when all 25 gift cards are awarded.

Feel free to print the passport or pick one up at any of the participating locations.  Once completed, email a copy of your completed Passport to susan@nearindy.org or drop it off at the NEAR office at 960 N. Rural Street with your mailing address.

Businesses include a wide range including: gift shops, ceramics, art galleries, breweries & cider, restaurants, bars, plant stores, antique & thrift, fitness studios, a movie theater, a bakery, a meatery, and more.

Ash & Elm

After the first week, we have three winners. Our last winner commented, “I had a great time checking out Natural State Provisions, had not visited since the brewery left that space as well as Ash and Elm, had not been to their new space either. Also enjoyed checking out Gravesco and Grounded Plant Floral Co, have always wanted to go in to both but the passport gave me a compelling reason to actually do it!”

NEAR works with small businesses with technical support, communication on grant opportunities, Events, NEBA (Near Eastside Business Association), and marketing support via social media, the Monthly Near Indy Guide Newsletter and its companion website the NearIndyGuide.org.  Funding and partner support includes Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, LISC Indy, INHP and the City of Indianapolis.

Please come and visit the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, a wonderful place to live, eat, drink and shop.
