You’ve visited Monument Circle and made your way to some of the city’s best restaurants. Now it’s time to let your creativity flow. Indy has tons of ways to get involved in do-it-yourself art while enjoying the company of friends and family.
Here are six DIY art experiences to check out in the Circle City.
Kicasso Sneaker Art Bar
Leave Indianapolis with a pair of shoes you won’t forget! At Kicasso, the canvas is your sneaker. You’ll be guided by instructors on how to paint a pair of sneakers to your liking. Shoes, supplies and an apron are all provided, so all you have to do is bring your creative side. Remember, no two shoes are alike, so let your creativity flow.
Penn & Beech
Pour it up, pour it up! Penn & Beech allows you to create a custom scent for candles and reed diffusers. The process is easy, and with over 100 scents to choose from, you can follow your heart -or nose- to make the candle of your dreams. Walk-ins and group gatherings are accepted to this Mass Ave establishment.
Mimosa and a Masterpiece
Another Mass Ave favorite is Mimosa and a Masterpiece. This isn’t your typical wine and canvas establishment. Sure, you can learn to paint unbelievable pieces of art and have a drink while doing so, but that’s not all. With special experiences like blacklight painting and paint-at-home classes, the possibilities are endless.
Pottery By You
Can’t choose between candle pouring, pottery painting, and wood painting? At Pottery By You, all of those are options. Though best known for their fun pottery paint, they have an entire room dedicated to wood painting and custom candle pouring. You’re able to choose your scent and color.
Indianapolis Art Center
Make and take within two hours? Yes, please. The Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple offers dozens of two-hour pop up classes that will fulfill your needs. Make a glass flower, ceramic garden house, cutting board, and others.
Get Dirty Ceramics
This is the perfect place to bring the entire family while exploring what Indy has to offer. Get Dirty Ceramics has adult and kids classes along with “open paint” sessions that let your creative side run wild.
