The chosen locations are among the trending cities in the US according to Airbnb, based on global searches by users in the United States. While the eclipse will be visible across the entire country, none will offer the same level of connectivity and accessibility as the "Crossroads of America." Indy is within a day's drive for over half of the nation's population.

Time Out Magazine sings the Circle City's praises, touting Indy as a popular getaway destination for many reasons. Noting the city's spot on the path of totality for the Total Solar Eclipse, the publication also recommends the world’s largest children’s museum, numerous hiking and biking trails, and exciting opportunities to cheer on sports teams.
