This time last year, we were looking forward to a dynamic, fast-paced Independence Day weekend. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway had just announced that the INDYCAR GMR Grand Prix and the Big Machine Vodka Brickyard 400 (this year, renamed the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer Brickyard 400) were to be run on the Fourth of July weekend, inciting visions of crowded seats around the famed oval. An exciting and iconic pair of races were up for residents and visitors alike to enjoy on the holiday weekend.
Those crowded seats will have to wait another year, as this year’s GMR Grand Prix and Big Machine 400 will run without spectators. The priority of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the health and safety of the thousands of fans who walk through their doors. However, that doesn’t mean you and your household will spend Independence Day weekend completely Brickyard-less!
Race fans are encouraged to show their passion for the NASCAR and INDYCAR tripleheader July 3-5 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway by watching all three races live on NBC in their homes or neighborhoods, the cornerstone of the #BackyardBrickyard campaign leading into the historic race weekend.
Tune into NBC on Sunday, July 5, at 3:30 pm for special live programming around the Big Machine 400, and witness the exhilarating race. Plus, while you watch, you can engage with #BackyardBrickyard in the following ways:
- Brush up on your Big Machine 400 quick facts
