During a typical year, visitors to Victory Field in Indianapolis would be cheering for the Indianapolis Indians. This beautiful ballpark is home to 70 games, but with changes brought to the season due to COVID, there's been an opening for creative ideas. Last month, Victory Field was transformed to a modified golf course and now, Victory Field will kick off a fall series of movies.
What better place to watch three iconic baseball movies than this downtown treasure?
The Sandlot (September 11), Angels in the Outfield (September 25) and A League of Their Own (October 9) will play on the screens in the ballpark.
Stadium seating is available in the lower level for just $10 per ticket, but you'll want to reserve your spot quickly; these tickets are a homerun!
Additional seating options include the 21+ area, Yuengling Landing. Seats in Yuengling Landing include soda, water, beer and popcorn in the price of the ticket.
If you're interested in an on-field experience for watching the flicks, there are 100 seating pods available during each screening. Seating pods are 10' x 10' squares on the field, separated by 10' from one another. Each seating pod has space for up to six people. While the pods may remind guests of the lawn seating at Indianapolis Indians games, outside food and beverage are not permitted. However, guests in seating pods are permitted to bring picnic blankets and chairs. Seating pods must be reserved in advance.
Limited free parking is available at Victory Field. Additional parking is available for a fee at White River State Park and at several private parking areas. Gates open at 6 pm and the movie begins at 7 pm. Concession will be available for purchases.
Tickets are available online while they last.
Many restaurants are located within walking distance of Victory Field, including OP Italian and High Velocity, located inside the JW Marriott. T.G.I Friday's is inside the Fairfield Inn.
