Holiday traditions are sacred to families during the merriest time of year. Despite restrictions, you can still enjoy traditions, like your annual trip to see a holiday-themed ballet. However, this time around, you can leave on your pajamas and grab a cup of hot cocoa when you watch “Nutcracker Sweets” performed live on The Toby stage at Newfields.

This virtual live streaming event will bring the Land of Sweets from now through the holidays. “Nutcracker Sweets,” a condensed version of “The Nutcracker” will bring the merriment of the season right to your living room.

“Nutcrackers Sweets” will allow you to join the Stahlbaum family as they host a grand party on Christmas Eve. Young Clara is gifted a Nutcracker that leads her on a vibrant journey of colorful dances and fantastical sights.

Previously, the performance of this one-hour matinee was scheduled for an in-person show. The team at the Indianapolis Ballet decided to continue the share the art of storytelling and dance virtually to ensure everyone remains safe and healthy.

Never watched a ballet via your computer? No problem. Ticket holders will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to gain access to the high-quality live stream performance.

You’re also invited to share the holiday magic on social media. Tag @indyballet and use the hashtag #BeUplifted to show how you're enjoying the performance.
