Mother’s Day Weekend at the Indianapolis Zoo

This two-day, family-friendly event puts the spotlight on all mothers – both human and animal. Special recognition starts right as you enter the zoo, with a special “Proud Mom” sticker. A scavenger hunt includes plenty of facts and features some of the zoo’s animal matriarchs. Once your family finishes the hunt, head to White River Gardens Gift Shop for a special gift.

Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch Buffet at The Propylaem

Head to The Propylaeum for a special sit-down brunch. This Mother’s Day meal has a little bit of everything, from champagne and smoked salmon to pancakes and pie. Tickets cost $35 for Propylaeum members, $30 for non-members, and $12 for children ages 5-10 (children four and under are free). Call ahead to reserve your spot.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in Concert with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra

This Mother’s Day, Muggles can head to Hilbert Circle Theatre for the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will perform the score from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which will be projected simultaneously. Performances will be held on both Friday and Sunday. Tickets start at $39.

Make Your Own Herbal Gifts at Garfield Park Conservatory

On Saturday, the Herb Society of Central Indiana is hosting an herbal gift workshop for adults. There will be handouts, recipes, and fresh herbs to sample. Attendees will be able to make sachets or tusse-mussies for Mother’s Day (or any day)! Registration is required, but the cost to attend is only $5.

Mother’s Day Celebration with the Indy Indians

Take me mom out to the ball game! At 1:35 pm on Mother’s Day, the Indy Indians take on the Columbus Clippers. Fans can check out the Susan G. Komen baseball display and the Hot Corner Gift Shop, where 20 percent of the proceeds from women’s apparel will go to Susan G. Komen. Children 14 and under will also receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips, and a drink.

Mother’s Day Drag Brunch at Metro Night Club

Your momma is unforgettable … and so are the ladies of MASSterpiece Revue. On Mother’s Day, head to Metro for a special Drag Brunch. Doors open at noon for this 21-and-over-event, with food served at 12:30 pm. The show starts at 1:30 pm, and drink specials include $20 mimosa buckets. 

DIY Workshop: Mom & Me with The Flower Boys

Create something beautiful for your mom – or with your mom – at this flower arranging workshop. For $40, you’ll learn how to prep, arrange, and maintain your new creation of cut flowers. Sign up for either the 5:30 p.m. Thursday workshop, or the 9:30 a.m. Saturday one. Meet on the mezzanine level of City Market.

A Fancy Tea for Mommy and Me at Table + Tea

Have a little one who loves to dress up? Then don’t miss this fancy tea party. The whole family will enjoy an afternoon of eats, drinks, crafts, and dress-up.
