Experience authentic flavors of the world at the city's best global cuisines and markets in Indy's International Marketplace.
Since 2005, Indy’s International Marketplace Coalition (formally The Lafayette Square Area Coalition) has served as a nonprofit organization of businesses, concerned citizens and community leaders who encourage economic growth and development on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
All within steps, imagine traveling to Cuba, Greece, Ethiopia, Japan, Mexico, Peru and Salvador by visiting businesses representing these countries. Visit an African seamstress and have your dress made within a week, eat Middle Eastern food the traditional way by sitting in a private booth on the floor or stop by the Mexican ice cream shop where the line literally ends at the street.
More than 100 languages are spoken and 900 ethnic restaurants and businesses from around the world reside within the 2.5-mile area. The organization is planning to open the Global Village Welcome Center in Fall 2021 as a place where everyone is welcome to explore, connect and celebrate their cultures and traditions.
