In June 2024, the city of Indianapolis is set to be the venue for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming. A unique twist to this edition is the unprecedented use of Lucas Oil Stadium, a football field, to host the nine-day Olympic-qualifying meet. The event promises to attract a massive audience, bringing together families, friends, and fans to the Circle City.
The Olympic Trials, held once every four years, stand as the pinnacle of swimming events in the United States. The upcoming 2024 Olympic Trials hold particular significance as they serve as the exclusive selection meet for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team. This team will proudly represent Team USA in the pool competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. Although Indianapolis last hosted the swimming Trials in 2000, the 2024 edition marks the centennial celebration since the city hosted the Olympic Swimming Trials for the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris.
Over 250,000 fans expected over nine days and will break the record for the largest swim meet ever, as Indy will be host to 1,000 athletes, 500 coaches as 52 spots for Team USA are decided.
New for 2024, and to align with the competition schedule in Paris, the event includes nine days of competition with 17 sessions (eight preliminaries, nine finals). There are multiple ticket types available now, including Single-Session tickets to offer maximum flexibility when planning your trip.
Single-day tickets are on sale now and include the prelims and finals for each day. Or, you can purchase single-session tickets for either the morning or the afternoon events each day.
Pricing for groups of 10+ individuals will be available. Please contact the group sales representative Jim Perry at jperry@indianasportscorp.org.
During USA Olympic Team Trials - Swimming, downtown Indy will transform into a special fan zone featuring multiple activation sites to celebrating swimming and gather excitement for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Toyota Aqua Zone is back! This indoor, air-conditioned free-to-the-public fan fest will host an autograph stage, dozens of brand activations, a beer garden, and the retail super store.
USA Swimming LIVE, sponsored by Purdue University, kicks off on June 14 with the Starting Block Party on Georgia Street. The event will run alongside the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Swimming from June 15-23. This free event offers live musical performances, food, drinks, and more daily from 1-8 pm. Visit the Swim Up Bar for refreshments and a poolside atmosphere (sans water), and explore the impressive All Lanes Lead to Indy Artwork showcased along Georgia Street.
Like Paris, but closer. This 66-ft tall reimagining of the iconic Parisian landmark will dot the skyline outside the Indiana Convention Center on Georgia Street. Fabricated by the Latinas Welding Guild, the 20,000 pound Eiffel Tower - dubbed the "Indianapolis Tower" - will be a stunning photo opportunity and will offer an inside look to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Indiana Water Safety Program, known as Swim IN Safety, is being launched through a collaboration between USA Swimming and the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming Local Organizing Committee. This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Indy Aquatic Alliance longitudinal program, aims to share water safety skills to Hoosiers aged 5 and above over the next two years. The primary objective is to instruct 25,000 individuals in water safety in 2023 and an additional 25,000 in 2024. As part of the legacy initiatives tied to the 2024 Olympic Swimming Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium from June 15 to 23, 2024, Swim IN Safety will play a crucial role.
