Spill the Tea - Scandals of Indiana’s Past - Notorious Indiana
Overview
From John Dillinger to Tuffy Mitchell to Jinx Dawson and more, visitors will meet some of Indiana's most infamous figures. Mary Figueroa, curator of history for the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, will lead a discussion with Will Higgins, former journalist and host of the “Real Weird Crimes” walking tours, shedding light on the people and places that haunt Hoosier history.
Created exclusively for adults, this captivating series will put a new twist on the traditional afternoon tea. Attendees can enjoy a dining experience in the historic L.S. Ayres Tea Room while museum experts divulge the juicy details on a variety of intriguing topics.
The historic L.S. Ayres Tea Room will provide an intimate setting for this series that’s perfect for storytelling. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best tea party attire to sip and savor a selection of teas and small bites during the program. Guests can also enjoy themed parlor games and get an up-close look at interesting objects from the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites’ collection.
Spill the Tea programs are recommended for visitors ages 18 and up. Seating is limited, and advance registration is required one week prior to each program. Tickets are $35 for nonmembers, and museum members will receive a 10% discount.
