Overview
Independent creative powerhouse Grittsville USA produces the spectacular, multi-show residency debut of "Songs in the Key of Grenadine! A One (Wo)man Revolution." at the IF Theatre’s Basile Stage. This fast-paced, 55-minute production channels the magnetic, high-stakes energy of a classic superstar center-stage revue—with absolutely no intermission.
"This isn't just a show; it's a hijacking of the stage," says Fleming. "Miss Grenadine Ross doesn't do understated, she doesn't do brunch, and she uses her own live, authentic voice. She demands a theater, she demands a spotlight, and she commands the stage. It’s bold, it’s fast, it’s unapologetic, and if you aren't there to witness the revolution live, you’re simply missing out."
Daren J. Fleming is a professional actor, published author, and producer whose diverse creative career began at the age of 14 when he was hand-selected as a young actor by the legendary Helen Wells. A true queer trailblazer, Fleming starred in The Ski Trip (July 2005), making history as the first-ever film broadcast on the Logo Network and marking a monumental milestone as the first LGBTQ+ television movie to feature an African American cast. Born in Chicago to a family deeply rooted in Indianapolis, Fleming cut his teeth in the local Indiana arts landscape—including serving as an assistant house manager at the Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT)—before departing in 2000 to spend over two decades in New York City generating original theatrical, literary, and audio works. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from The New School and completing his graduate studies at Pace University, he has returned to Indianapolis to push boundaries in solo performance and independent theater production under the Grittsville USA umbrella.
