Overview
Little Shell Chippewa textile artist Carrie McCleary will teach a textile workshop to participants!
Participants will learn about appropriation and inspiration in fashion and art, then explore the Expressions of Life: Native Art in North America gallery, creating sketches to apply in the studio upcycling a jacket or hoodie using print blocks, paint, embroidery and accessories to update their wardrobe. It is encouraged to bring in a hoodie or jacket that you would like to decorate. If you don’t have a piece of clothing that you’d like to bring in, you can create a make and take patch that you can later add to a piece of clothing.
No experience necessary. All supplies will be provided. This workshop is best for people ages 15+.
Parking is free on a first come, first serve basis in the White River State Parking Garage. Proof of membership required at the door.
