No matter the event, Hoosiers always know how to make it big. Don’t expect that to change with the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship coming to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy on January 10, 2022.
As the Circle City prepares for an event of this magnitude, the 2022 Indianapolis Host Committee has launched the inaugural Indiana Tailgate Tour to generate excitement and engage with communities across the state.
The Indiana Tailgate Tour is visiting 18 high school football games across the state this fall, offering fans interactive opportunities such as prize giveaways, corn hole, a photo booth, and exciting football-skill activities with USA Football prior to kickoff.
However, this tour is much more than just another tailgating opportunity for football fans. At each stop, the Indianapolis Host Committee is awarding a $1,000 grant to the participating schools to aid in teacher and classroom development with an additional $500 being donated to each school’s athletic department.
In total, the Indianapolis Host Committee is donating $54,000 to participating schools to improve student outcomes and create long-lasting impacts on people across the Hoosier state.
The Indiana Tailgate Tour has already made stops in and impacted the communities of West Lafayette, Peru, North Central, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, Carmel and Crown Point. The tour will wrap up its nine-week journey on October 15 at Evansville Reitz and South Bend St. Joseph high schools.
The excitement of the pinnacle of college football will begin in downtown Indy on Saturday, January 8. Championship Campus, which includes CFP signature events such as Playoff Fan Central, AT&T Playlist Live!, Allstate Championship Tailgate, Media Day, the Extra Yard 5K and Taste of the Championship, will provide fans with a walkable footprint that will feature a comprehensive festival of attractions and activities.
