Join The Indianapolis Jazz Collective for an extraordinary evening honoring the deep roots of Indiana’s music heritage as we celebrate the legendary saxophonists of the Jimmy Coe Big Band: Russell Webster, Pookie Johnson, and David Young.
For decades, the Jimmy Coe Big Band defined the high-energy sound of Indiana Avenue, serving as an anchor for Naptown’s golden era of jazz and swinging big band traditions. Carrying that torch into the present day, the Indianapolis Jazz Collective pays homage to these legendary reed masters. The lineup features powerhouse saxophonists Rob Dixon, Sean Imboden, and Jared Thompson, backed by a stellar rhythm section: Steve Allee on piano, Nick Tucker on bass, and Kenny Phelps on drums.
Don't miss this swingin', soul-stirring tribute to local jazz royalty and experience the timeless legacy of Indianapolis jazz history!
