Overview
The Indiana Peony Festival is held every May on the weekend before Memorial Day. Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb declared that the third Saturday in May will be known as Indiana Peony Festival Day with the following proclamation:
- Whereas, on March 15, 1957, the Indiana General Assembly passed legislation officially naming the peony as the Indiana state flower; and
- Whereas, former state Rep. Lawrence D. Baker and the state legislature played a pivotal role in granting the peony this honor; and
- Whereas, since the establishment of the peony as the official Indiana state flower, there has been not yet been a statewide day of celebration; and
- Whereas, the City of Noblesville in partnership with the newly established Indiana Peony Festival have taken great care in honoring the peony; and
- Whereas, today is a day of celebration of our beautiful state flower; Now, therefore, I, Eric J. Holcomb, Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby proclaim May 22, 2021, as Indiana Peony Day in the State of Indiana, and invite all citizens to duly note this occasion.
Join us in celebrating our prized state flower at the Indiana Peony Festival! Visit and shop over 150 local vendors showcasing cut flowers, bouquets, plants, clothes, decor, art, food & drink, and more! Our favorite part- they all feature our favorite flower- the PEONY!
The heart of the Festival is located in historic Seminary Park, where you can find a show-stopping array of peonies, hand-tied floral installations, official peony festival merchandise, peony plants for purchase, live music, detailed photo backdrops & more! After you’ve explored the park, head to the surrounding streets to sip, shop, & stroll floral displays, vendors, and all things peony!
As our Festival continues to grow beyond Seminary Park, downtown and the courthouse lawn will once again be part of the celebration. And while the setting may feel familiar, what we’re bringing to those spaces will be entirely new.
In addition to the festival, visitors can enjoy Brunch & Blooms, a brunch and retail crawl through Noblesville on Saturday, and Peonies in the Park, a ticketed event for those 21 and over happening Friday.
