Overview
The Greenwood Community Jazz Ensemble will bring an afternoon of big band jazz to Bargersville at Umbarger Plaza Amphitheater, 118 N. Baldwin St.
The free concert will feature the Greenwood Community Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Mark Middleton, joined by guest vocalist Diane Tsao.
The performance is a special encore to Bargersville’s Cultural Soundscapes season, and will showcase the sound of a full jazz ensemble, with saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and rhythm section filling the amphitheater with classic big band music and vocal favorites.
Tsao brings extensive Indianapolis-area jazz and stage experience to the concert and will be featured on selections with the ensemble.
The Greenwood Community Jazz Ensemble is the big band jazz ensemble of the Greater Greenwood Community Band and includes musicians from throughout central Indiana. The ensemble performs jazz, swing, and popular music while continuing the organization’s mission of providing high-quality live music for the community.
The concert is free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy an afternoon of live music at Umbarger Plaza Amphitheater.
