Black and Unwrapped - A District Theatre `Black Light` Ten Minute Play Holiday Celebration
Overview
What do the holidays really look like inside our homes and families?
They can be joyful, complicated, funny, nostalgic, loud, loving and sometimes just a little messy.
The Holidays: Black & Unwrapped is a lively collection of six original work exploring how Black families celebrate, navigate and reinvent the holiday season.
Created through The District Theatre’s Black Light Training & Development program, the collection gives playwrights room to move between comedy and reflection, music and memory, family traditions and contemporary experiences.
Rather than telling audiences what a holiday celebration is supposed to look like, Black & Unwrapped celebrates the stories, traditions and experiences that make each family’s holidays its own.
CAST: The cast will play multiple roles within the 6 ten-minute plays. Kaleb Sweatt, Ronni Watts, Curtis Jones II, Kea Biven-Williams, Dalonte Page Terrence Marquis, Tamara Taylor, Destiny Basnight, Makayla Jones.
