Experience Indianapolis the local way and discover the appeal and lifestyle of Indy's attractions and iconic experiences.
Overview
The Children’s Museum and Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience® will be temporarily closed for essential updates to electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. During this time, the entire campus will be closed to guests and staff. When we welcome visitors back on September 26, they'll notice improvements related to accessibility and overall comfort. This work is part of our long-term plan to update museum infrastructure. Learn more here.
Admission:
Admission is $23-$38, prices vary daily. Admission is $6 the first Thursday of each month, 4-8 pm.

- Walk among prehistoric giants in Dinosphere. Touch real fossils, talk to real paleontologists, and learn how they research and prepare the fossils they’ve excavated. Then try your hand at paleo art in the Art Lab.
- See Dale Chihuly’s 43-foot-tall Fireworks of Glass sculpture featuring over 3,200 stunning pieces of brilliant blown glass.
- Examine the lives of three 20th-century children (Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges, Ryan White, and Malala Yousafzai) who changed the world in The Power Of Children.
- Visit a gallery that pays tribute to the men and women who helped make space exploration possible in Beyond Spaceship Earth. It includes a recreation of portions of the inside of the International Space Station (ISS); a one-of-a-kind, immersive space object experience called the Schaefer Planetarium & Space Object Theater; and an Astronaut Wall of Fame, which highlights astronauts with ties to Indiana.
- Learn about some of archaeology’s greatest mysteries in National Geographic Treasures of the Earth. Explore Seti’s Tomb, Captain Kidd’s Shipwreck, and the Terra Cotta Warriors.
Photo opportunities include the 16-foot-tall movie prop Bumblebee, from the first Transformers movie, North America’s largest water clock, and a historic working carousel.
The museum is closed on select Mondays during the year. For a complete listing visit childrensmuseum.org.
