Overview
HI-FI is a 400 capacity concert and special events venue located in the heart of Fountain Square. You can find us between Pure Eatery and Red Lion Grog House with our main entrance and box office located on Virginia Avenue and The Cultural Trail. You must be 21 years of age, or older, to enter the venue with no exceptions. All shows are general admission standing room unless otherwise noted.
This year HI-FI celebrates its 10-year anniversary. To mark this monumental milestone, they're ramping up their game with upgrades and enhancements to both HI-FI and HI-FI Annex.
HI-FI Indy was born out of the passion of its owners, who started out as independent concert promoters as MOKB Presents. Their business outgrew their venue resources, serving a diverse range of audiences from rock to folk to country, from national acts to local up-and-comers, and MOKB needed a permanent home of its own. That evolution began as the Do317 Lounge, undergoing two major renovations before transforming into its current iteration as the HI-FI, a 400-person live music venue. HI-FI Indy is housed in the Murphy Arts building, historically home to musicians, artists and nightlife. In the early 1900s, the building housed the 1,200 seat Grenada Theatre, of which you can still view the proscenium and architecture on the second floor.
HI-FI owners have always been immersed in live music. Their foundational company, MOKB Presents was created because artists were touring around Indianapolis, and the founders weren’t satisfied with road tripping to see their favorites. They’re committed to providing an ideal experience for both artists and guests, from comforting amenities backstage to a perfectly-tuned room, as a testament to their simple guiding principle: Music first.
