Ever wonder where your childhood stars go after their big debuts in your favorite shows? Well, some of them end up in Indianapolis. Dylan Sprouse, more lovingly known by Gen Z as Zack from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Suite Life on Deck, ended up in Indianapolis for the filming of his latest movie, The Duel. You may recognize Sprouse from some other pieces he has been in since his role as Zack, he has played prominent roles in movies like Beautiful Disaster, Beautiful Wedding, and After We Collided. Sprouse is making his first debut as an Executive Producer and with the help of Indy-based film company, Pigasus Pictures, The Duel has turned into a passion project.
The movie was filmed in Indy during the pandemic in 2020 and it’s very likely that some of your favorite spots in Indy turned into “picture-perfect” locations for the film. Here is a list of the Indy spots that made it into the movie.
INFERNO ROOM
The Inferno Room houses the largest collection of Papua New Guinea native art that exists outside of a museum. Whether you’re going to explore and marvel at the historic tiki art or experience a relaxing evening with a tropical cocktail in hand, you are bound to enjoy your visit. The Inferno Room will be serving up a specialty cocktail in honor of their appearance in the film, so ask your bartender for a Coconut Explosion and sit back for the behind-the-scenes story!
MIDLAND ARTS & ANTIQUES
Midland Arts & Antiques runs over 175 independent art and antique dealers from around the Midwest out of one location. And with over 16 years of business, they have been voted the “Best Antique Mall in Indiana” by onlyinyourstate.com.
INDIANA DUNES
Indiana Dunes includes 15 miles of award-winning shorelines. With options to explore the dunes on foot, by kayak, or pushing the bike pedal, the dunes are an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while choosing the adventure that best suits you and your family.
ASHERWOOD
Asherwood in West Carmel is an exclusive community with 40 private home sites. The 107-acre gated community is encircled by mature trees that line the custom-housing neighborhood.
Pigasus Pictures will premiere the film July 28th, 2024, in partnership with Lionsgate, at the Hilbert Circle Theatre downtown. With a 5-foot Red Solo Cup being placed on Monument Circle to honor the film, it is obvious the Hoosiers are excited for a movie produced, filmed, and premiered in Indy.
