Commission Row, located in the new Bicentennial Unity Plaza, is the latest addition to the Cunningham Restaurant Group. It caught my attention as a local, particularly with the upcoming NBA All-Star game taking place right next to it at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in a few weeks.
Opening its doors on January 22, Commission Row boasts an expansive 30,000 square feet of dining and entertainment space situated at 110 S. Delaware St. in Indianapolis. Each of the three floors offers something unique to visitors.
The restaurant, located on the main floor, has a modern sophisticated feel to it. It’s spacious for sit-down patrons and offers a separate bar area next to the restaurant dining. Their menu offers a selection of high-quality steak and seafood options, a raw bar, along with drinks and desserts. It would be a great spot for a special occasion or a casual drink at Mel’s on the bottom floor.
One feature that stood out to me throughout the evening was the artwork, mirrors, and interior design of the establishment. After descending the staircase to Mel's Speakeasy and being greeted by the host I couldn’t help but notice the artwork, round tables, dim lighting, unique chairs, and a few sections with curtains available for privacy. There are signature cocktails and mocktails, as well as small bites.
The top floor is an event center that provides a panoramic view of the plaza and fire pits to cozy up next to. The space can host 200+ guests seated with standing room for 400 guests and would be a great choice for a private event, such as a wedding or business conference.
With its commitment to quality, attention to detail, and vibrant atmosphere, it stands as a testament to Indianapolis' thriving restaurant scene. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it presents a noteworthy addition to Indianapolis' culinary landscape, worthy of exploration.
