2023 Indy State of Tourism

Visit Indy is celebrating its centennial. Our non-profit was founded in 1923 as an entity of the Indy Chamber, a $1,000 line item called the “Indianapolis Convention & Publicity Committee.” In 1936, we became a separate non-profit entity. For 100 years, we’ve proudly helped drive tourism forward. In 2022, we helped our industry continue to recover from the pandemic. We helped the destination prepare to host the College Football Playoff National Championship, an event generating $156.6 million in economic impact. We made continued progress advancing the expansion of the Indiana Convention Center and new Signia Hilton on Pan Am Plaza. Moreover, we helped the 80,000 Central Indiana residents who depend on tourism for a paycheck keep working. #LoveIndy
