Sign Up For EmailTourism is an economic engine for Indianapolis. Since 1923, Visit Indy has served as the city’s official destination-marketing organization, charged with driving tourism and enhancing the perception of the city. Tourism generates economic impact for the city, region, and state, while creating jobs and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.
Recovery from the global pandemic has been a long and tenuous process for cities across the country. Indy bounced back faster than most, starting with hosting the entirety of March Madness and then safely hosting a mix of events that relocated from other cities. The result was Indy outperforming every U.S. city for group occupany in 2021. The coming year got off to a quick start with the College Football Playoff Championship in January and a group calendar packed with returning favorites and new business. Beyond that, development in the pipeline promises increased capacity and allure for future convention and leisure travelers.
