Overview
Explore where the wonder, words, spirit, & natural world connect.
Step outside the everyday and into spaces where nature and spirit meet. From quiet reflections to immersive experiences, these events invite you to explore the sacredness of the natural world through art, literature, and contemplation.
Here’s a look at what’s happening:
- 32 events and 80+ experiences across Marion, Johnson, Boone, Hamilton, Madison, and Putnam Counties! From birdwatching and nature journaling to poetry readings, film screenings, concerts, exhibitions, and lectures—there’s something for everyone.
- The annual Public Conversation, Sacred Synergies: Nature, Faith, & Science, features The Nature Conservancy’s Chief Scientist Katharine Hayhoe in a virtual keynote with communal watch party. Register today.
- Celebrate Spirit & Place’s 30th anniversary at Connected by Nature. Hear a new commission by spoken word artist Manon Voice, music from Premium Blend, and more!
- The festival welcomes people of all backgrounds and abilities. In partnership with IUI’s Program in American Sign Language (ASL) and English Interpreting, student interpreters will be at select events. Email festival@iu.edu to learn more. Large font, text-only event guides are also available for downloading (click here) and will be made available at all events.
