Gen Con Block Party

Overview

Gen Con Indy is the original, longest-running, best-attended, gaming convention in the world.

One of the highlights is the Block Party on South Street, and you don't even need a ticket to attend.

If your side quest is to find tasty food and drinks, head just south of the convention center. Look for annual favorites like Island Noodles, Wild Bill's, and Critical Hit Soda (official mocktail sponsor), Subway, Sodexo, and Jug's, as well as local vendors and a large variety of food trucks. Let your culinary adventures begin here! You can even beat the heat with misters and shaded tables and enjoy onsite restrooms.

Core Strategy, the Official Beer of Gen Con 2025, will be released Wednesday, July 30, at Sun King's tent along South Street.

Special Foods, Drinks, and Gear

• Social Cantina is going full Mario Bros. with themed menu items and cocktails (Koopa Shell, Princess Peach, Ice Man, and Dragon Slayer) plus a sci-fi movie marathon all weekend.

• The Tap will be serving wraps and their world-famous Tap Fries.

• Sun King brings the Official Beer of Gen Con, Core Strategy. It's an apple cyzer that's similar to a braggot. The apple cider/beer combo is sure to satisfy. Sun King will also be selling their 2025 Gen Con t-shirt while supplies last.

• The Official Burger of Gen Con is The Burning Beast from Huse Culinary's Harry & Izzy's. It starts with a juicy steakburger, melty American cheese, Flaming Hot Cheetos, and bold ancho chipotle sauce. Don't pass on the shrimp cocktail with the "World's Hottest Dish" sauce at this booth.

• Hotbox Pizza's Official Pizza of Gen Con is Critical Chip. It packs a punch with salsa verde, fiesta corn with beans, mozzarella, jalapeños, then delivers that final hit by being topped off with a ranch drizzle and crushed Doritos.

• Daniel's Vineyard will be bringing wines and wine cocktails, including this year's special wine Tideborn. It's a bold, dry red wine inspired by gaming and fantasy. You'll also find fan-favorite Code Rose, a refreshing summer sip.

• Need a caffeine boost to carry on gaming? Visit Helm Coffee for a variety of drinks to keep your battery charged like the Hastemaker (chilled espresso-infused cold brew), Victorious Brew (iced latte with oat milk), Expeditious Elixir (sweet honey and cinnamon iced oat milk latte), Rejuvenation Potion (hibiscus tea and lemonade). Grab Rejuvenation Potion in a can this year to enjoy on the run. Get $1 off daily on all purchases during happy hour, 7-9 pm.

• On Georgia Street just a couple of blocks east of the convention center, Georgia Street Grind will have five specialty drinks (Thor's Hammer, Simple Meeple, Dragon's Breath, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, The Beholder) in addition to favorites like the Peppermint Mocha, Nitro Cold Brew, and Spanish Latte.

• Across Capitol Avenue on the east side of the convention center, Coffee Den will be offering favorites like dirty chai and blackberry mochas.

• Prime 47 is bringing short rib tacos, chips & salsa, and soft drinks.
