Overview
Celebrate Black Birders Week with a guided birding tour through the beautiful Crown Hill Arboretum. We’ll explore woodland trails and open habitats while spotting seasonal migrants and resident birds, with tips on identification and birding by ear along the way. A Crown Hill Foundation docent will also share a brief history of Crown Hill Cemetery and Arboretum, adding cultural and historical context to our walk. This welcoming experience centers Black joy, community, and connection to nature for birders of all experience levels. Our birding guide, Douglas Gray, is a nationally-recognized birder from Franklin, Indiana, who is an advocate for building a diverse and welcoming bird-watching community, one that reflects the same incredible diversity as the avian world.
Held outside within the Crown Hill Arboretum – meet at The Waiting Station, located at 3402 Blvd. Place, Indpls, 46208
