Indy's best haus party is back and it's WUNDERBAR!
Discover your inner German and party at the Athenaeum. Enjoy traditional arts and crafts, Durstig games, live weiner dog races, Zwergenland for the kids, traditional German food and beverages, and so much more. All proceeds from GermanFest benefit the maintenance and care of the historic Athenaeum. Don your dirndls and lederhosen, or just come as you are, and celebrate German-American Day at this unique family event. Oh, did we mention das Bier?!?!?
We’re taking GermanFest to the streets again this year! Michigan and New Jersey Streets to be exact. The streets surrounding the Athenaeum (401 E. Michigan Street) will be closed to the public as we take over and fill them with the tradition and culture of our German ancestors. With plenty of food, drinks, music, and games, this is a party you won’t want to miss!
Feed your body with some classic German fare and feed your soul with two stages of live music and entertainment.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Start Your Dachshunds! Wiener races? Yeppers. You read that right. We’re the only game in town! Grab your weiner dog and show everyone that your furry friend belongs in the Weiner’s circle in an iconic race to be crowned “top dog!” *Registration for the weiner dog races will be available when tickets go on sale!
How Many Brats Can You Put Away? Feeling hungry? Bring your appetite and enter our brat eating contest. Or grab a pint of something thirst-quenching and root for your favorite eater! *Registration for the brat eating contest will be available when tickets go on sale!
