Tom Jernstedt Statue
Overview
Tom Jernstedt may not be a household name, but he has the honor of being dubbed "The Father of the Final Four." Most say he created March Madness.
An icon of the NCAA, Jernstedt was an unsung hero of thrilling, last second Sweet 16 wins and underdog Elite Eight victories. He was the architect of NCAA tournament brackets that became annual, beloved competitions.
A statue honoring him stands in downtown Indy at the intersection of Illinois and Georgia Streets.
