Overview
The Thomas Taggart Memorial Restoration and Amphitheatre project was funded by Lilly Endowment’s initiative, Strengthening Indianapolis Through Arts and Cultural Innovation. The project is thoughtfully restoring the Taggart Memorial – built in 1931 and named for former Indianapolis Mayor Thomas Taggart (1895-1901) – and creatively reusing this historic space as a neoclassical backdrop for a multipurpose, outdoor amphitheatre.
