Overview
Welcome to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church! We are located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis at the corner of Capitol Ave. and Georgia St., right across the street from the Indiana Convention Center. The diverse community has heritage deeply rooted in the rich history of St. John’s, which was founded in 1837. The parish that is alive and full of hope that is growing abundantly.
St. John’s serves a wide range of groups that include: traditional parishioners, families, young professionals, college students, daily Mass goers working in the city, visitors, and the our brothers and sisters in need both locally and abroad.
In 2013 we celebrated 175 years of ministry in the heart of the city. We hope to continue to “Open Wide the Doors to Christ” so that in all we do we can be Christ to one another and those we encounter daily. We hope you will join us for Mass and fellowship at St. John’s!

Mon.-Fri.: 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Sat. Masses: 12:10 and 5:30 pm
Sun. Masses: 8 and 11 am
Weekday Masses: 12:10 pm
