Overview
Ivy Tech Community College is the state’s largest public postsecondary institution and country’s largest singly accredited statewide community college system, offering high-value degree programs and training aligned with the needs of each community. In addition, the College provides several transfer opportunities to other colleges and universities in Indiana to give Hoosiers an affordable start towards a four-year degree.
Its downtown Indianapolis campus is home to Courses Restaurant and Courses Bakery and Café – both student-run operations in the heart of the city. Located in the old Stouffer Hotel, the bakery-café is on the first-floor lobby of the College’s Culinary and Conference Center, and the restaurant is located on the building’s penthouse floor, offering an impeccable wraparound view of the city. In addition, a portion of meal proceeds and 100% of tips go towards hospitality student scholarships to facilitate travel and experiential learning opportunities.
Ivy Tech’s Hospitality Administration program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Accrediting Commission. It offers hands-on learning for those interested in a successful culinary career at a fourth of the cost of other schools in the region.
Students can earn certificates, technical certificates, degrees and transfer opportunities in a variety of concentrations, including Baking and Pastry Arts, Beverage Management, Culinary Arts, Dietary Management, Event Management, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management and Restaurant Management.
