Overview
Freetown Village Living History Museum is a museum without walls and boasts of numerous interactive programs that present African-American history and culture in unique, entertaining formats of various lengths for various audiences. Programs may include elements of theater, storytelling, music (including many of the old Negro Spirituals), hands-on craft or heritage workshops (candle making, ice cream, butter churning, family traditions, etc.), and special events including the Evening Dinner with Freetown Village. Dressed in appropriate costume and interacting directly with the audience, the performers help to transcend time and space to bring Indiana history to life.
