Overview
Butler, an independent university that serves more than 4,700 students through six colleges, including the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Communication, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the Jordan College of the Arts, strives to create a learning environment that challenges students to reach for academic excellence.
A Butler education provides the framework for lifelong learning, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. A vibrant cultural and entertainment center, Butler's campus is home to Clowes Memorial Hall, one of the Midwest's premier performing arts facilities; Hinkle Fieldhouse, home of the Butler Bulldogs; and Holcomb Gardens, 20 acres of historic, formal gardens open to the public year-round and often the picturesque site for weddings, receptions, and other special events.
Each school year, Butler presents dozens of lectures and performances, nearly all free and open to the public. In 2013, Butler introduced Butler ArtsFest, eight days of concerts, discussions, and more. Information at www.butlerartsfest.com.
