Local's Guide to Pride Merch in Indy
It may be the last week of June, but local businesses are still full of Pride. Whether you’re looking for apparel, an eye-catching accessory, or a meaningful gift, you’re sure to find it at one of these eight small businesses.
Flags for Good
646 Virginia Ave.
Michael Green, a self-described “flag nerd,” launched Flags for Good in 2020. Since then, the company has donated nearly $320,000 to numerous organizations. Purchase an item from the extensive 2025 Pride Collection and choose who you’d like your donation to go to: GLAAD, The Trevor Project, and Indiana Youth Group, to name a few.
Hampton & Co.
5515 E. Washington St.
Indy native Adam Hampton owns Hampton & Co., which highlights the LGBTQAI+, drag, and arts communities in Indianapolis. Located in historic Irvington, the shop has made several “Best Local Gift Shop” lists and carries an eclectic mix of cards, candles, clothes, crystals, and other items where “humor and pop culture collide.”
The INDEX
201 S. Capitol Ave.
The INDEX is one-part visitors’ center and one-part gift shop. In addition to carrying merch from The Children’s Museum, the Indiana Historical Society, and the Eiteljorg, the shop is chock-full of items from local artisans. Think: Visit Indy Pride shirts from The Shop, prints from Lucie Rice, candles, books, snacks, and dozens of stickers.
Rooftop Fruit
1058 Virginia Ave.
This contemporary general store in Fountain Square features independent brands and thoughtfully curated goods. They also carry numerous goods from LGBTQAI+-owned businesses, including candles, natural skincare items, pronoun pins, prints, stationery, and zero-waste cleaning products. Be sure to check out the refill bar in the back!
Silver in the City
434 Massachusetts Ave.
For 25 years, Silver in the City has provided a welcoming and fun shopping experience. They also are an ally that celebrates diversity and champions for LGBTQAI+ rights. Step inside and you’ll find pins, patches, books, socks, sunglasses, jewelry, and all things rainbow. It’s no surprise the store is routinely named one of the best gift shops in the city.
Stomping Ground
1625 Nowland Ave.
While primarily a flower and plant store, Stomping Ground also carries a variety of gifts, cards, kids activities, and other items. Their Pride collection includes apparel, earrings from Lilliput, and stickers, pins, and buttons for every member of the LGBTQAI+ community. While there, see if you can’t spot Cheeto, the resident orange cat.
Toolbox Men’s Supply Company
750 N. College Ave.
This brick-and-mortar shop in the heart of Mass Ave specializes in men’s fashion underwear, swimwear, and apparel. Online, you’ll find a tab for festival gear that’s heavy on fringe and light on subtlety. Visit in person, and you’ll see all the fixtures and displays built by the owner, who is a member of the LGBTQAI+ community himself.
United State of Indiana
1051 E. 54th St.
United State of Indiana loves creating weird and wonderful tees. Take this “Pride or Die” shirt, for example, or this one inspired by Chappell Roan. Their (large) Pride collection also includes stickers, hats, pins, magnets, flags, posters, keychains, and mugs. Buy an item from the collection, and 25% of your purchase will go straight to Indy Pride.
