What to Expect at Chreece 2018

Every year, Indianapolis offers a slew of wonderful live music experiences, whether it’s the much-loved Indy Jazz Fest block party, a symphony performance at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, or a rock ‘n’ roll show out at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center. Recently, however, another one has come into the mix, and it’s starting to gain some national attention.

Founded in 2015, Chreece hip-hop festival will take place across several venues in Indianapolis’ historic Fountain Square neighborhood this August 25. Truly a grassroots event, Chreece showcases Indianapolis’ vast hip-hop talent, while also drawing regional acts to the area as well. This year, GOOD Music artist Valee will headline the festival, performing at Chreece alongside a pair of hip-hop legends in Black Moon and Ras Kass. Notable Indianapolis acts on the lineup also include Allison Victoria, Clint Breeze and the Groove, Drayco McCoy, Flaco, Ghost Gun Summer, Mathaius Young, Mudkids, Paris Ladame, and more.

Below, we highlight four things you can expect at Chreece 2018.

Chreece headliner Valee is a recent addition to Kanye West’s GOOD Music record label. He’s certainly on the rise and has teamed up on songs with big-name artists like Jeremih and Pusha T. For those looking for that old school rap sound, Black Moon and Ras Kass should definitely suffice, as both are highly regarded amongst hip-hop heads young and old.

Indiana’s Best Talent

No event regularly showcases Indianapolis hip-hop like Chreece. This year is no different, as acts like Clint Breeze and the Groove, Drayco McCoy, Flaco, and more top a stacked lineup that represents all lanes of the genre. If you want to discover something new in the world of local hip-hop, be sure and make it out to this event.

A Beautiful Neighborhood

Chreece takes place in Indianapolis beautiful Fountain Square neighborhood, where arts, culture, and live music abound. There are also fantastic restaurants and bars around every corner, which we highly recommend checking out while in the area. The Best Vibes Those who’ve attended Chreece know how much good energy is in the air throughout the festival. Artists come together to support each other, while devoted hip-hop fans are treated to a day that almost feels like Christmas.

Visit the official Chreece site to purchase advanced tickets to this year’s festival.
