Kick off your Fourth of July weekend with an outdoor screening of the film Funny Face in the Indianapolis Museum of Art amphitheater on Friday, June 30. Pack a picnic or enjoy concessions from Sun King Brewery. The film will begin at dusk, but arrive early to participate in pre-show activities, including playing with beach toys and lounging in inflatable pools – don’t fret, there are no sharks in this water.
Prepare for the Fourth of July with a little Taste of Indy, a day full of food and entertainment on July 1. Take a ride on a mechanical surf board or game all day in a video game truck while enjoying a wide variety of ethnic fare. Chef demonstrations, live music, and food from noon until sundown round out this event.
Imagine you’re kicking back in Hawaii while listening to Island Breeze, and groove in the garden at Easley Winery. Enjoy music and refreshments on July 1, along with beautiful scenery at the downtown winery. Bring a chair, pack some food, and simply kick back and relax for the day.
Celebrate our great nation picnic style at the Star Spangled Symphony on the Prairie. Head over to the lawn of Conner Prairie July 1-4, and be sure to bring a blanket, chairs, and all the food you can eat. This special symphony is dedicated to saluting America’s military. The patriotic performance will feature the symphony’s best music and show, followed by an incredible fireworks display to close out the night.
Experience Independence Day just like they did in the Victorian era by taking a journey back in time. Tour the home of the 23rd President of the United States, enjoy the sights of reenactors, and participate in old-time games.
On July 4, Pan Am Plaza in the heart of downtown Indy will be transformed into a stage for numerous bands and a gathering place for a worthy cause. Well-known artists 311 and New Politics are just a couple of the names that will be taking over for a full day of music, food, and fun, dedicated to bettering and honoring the lives of those with cancer.
A special edition of Concerts on the Canal on July 4 will feature patriotic marching tunes from the Indianapolis Municipal Band. Attend for free by packing a picnic and grabbing a seat on the lawn, or go for the splurge and rent a table. Concessions and a cash bar will be available to fuel your Independence Day celebration.
Nothing says America quite like baseball. Wear your red, white, and blue, and head over to Victory Field to watch one of America’s oldest pastimes as the Indianapolis Indians face the Louisville Bats (June 30-July 3) and the Columbus Clippers (July 4). Enjoy spectacular fireworks shows at the park: Downtown Indianapolis' annual Freedom Blast and the Indians' own fireworks show, which is scheduled to launch between the conclusion of July 4 evening's game and the Freedom Blast.
End your Independence Day with Indy’s largest fireworks display, shooting from the top of the Regions Bank Tower July 4 Downtown. This local tradition provides a spectacular display of color and noise, with fireworks synchronized to music. These colorful bursts can be seen for 10 miles, but the view is by far the best from the center of the action.
We look forward to hosting you.
