Creatures big and small are crawling, hopping, swimming, and slithering to Newfields this summer. Beginning June 1, there will be many colorful animals in the IMA Galleries and throughout The Garden as part of the Summer Wonderland: Spectacular Creatures exhibition, a campus-wide experience that fuses art and nature.
We’ve teamed up with Cracking Art to welcome hundreds of animals in a bevy of different colors, to spend the summer at Newfields. These animals are made from regenerated plastic that speaks to the environmental issues that face the planet, as well as how the world is becoming increasingly artificial.
See snails in the Efroymson Family Entrance Pavilion and penguins inside the Museum. Pick apples with bears in the Tanner Orchard, and watch out for giant alligators on garden pathways.
