Returning for his third Indianapolis appearance, NYC based, Australian born Adrian Cunningham is joined by jazz guitar great James Chirillo. Cunningham brings his combination of reeds, flute, vocals, and entertainer skills back to the main stage of The District Theatre. The award-winning Cunningham is one of the finest multi-instrumentalists in Jazz today. Whether playing or recording with his Professor Cunningham and his Old School swing jazz band or touring the world, Cunningham delights audiences with his many talents and infectious personality. James Chirillo is one of the world’s finest and most in-demand jazz guitarists. Chirillo has played with many jazz greats: Benny Goodman, Buck Clayton, Benny Carter, Eddie Durham, Eddie Barefield, Earle Warren, Frank Wess, and Joe Wilder to name just a few. He was a charter member of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and has worked closely with musician/educators Gunther Schuller and David Baker. They are joined by the rhythm section of Cunningham's award winning swing jazz band.
