Indy 500 at Home

For the first time since World War II, you won’t hear engines revving around the famed oval this Memorial Day weekend. While the 104th running has been rescheduled for August 23, 2020 (get your tickets here!), we don’t want May to pass without celebrating our favorite holiday weekend filled with Indy 500-inspired menus, décor, playlists, and more.

Track Food at Home

  • Gallery Pastry Shop (1): Indy 500 stamped macarons, available in a six-pack ($18) and 12-pack ($28). Order: online.

  • Goose the Market (2): Memorial Day Burger Sampler Packs and Memorial Day Sausage Sampler Packs available or order a la carte from nine varieties. Rubbed and ready ribs and Wagyu Brisket, too. Order: Online or by phone for pick up or delivery. 

  • The District Tap (3): The Track Pack features a meal for two plus a six-pack. Order: Call restaurant.

  • Bubbatown Burritos: Heat-n-serve breakfast burritos with three styles to start: a race weekend classic, the biscuits & gravy burrito, a vegan hash burrito, and a chicken “tritada” burrito. All burritos are made using local suppliers and quality ingredients. Order: Online starting Monday, May 18, at noon.

  • Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza: Pizza with a checkered flag? Yes, please. Special #1 includes a 12-inch one-topping pizza, three breadsticks with one dipping sauce, and two 20-ounce Pepsi products ($15.75). For the larger crowd (or appetite), try special #2, a 16-inch one-topping pizza, six breadsticks with two dipping sauces, and four 20-ounce Pepsi products ($24.95).   • Joella's Hot Chicken: Picnic Family Pack's (available in servings of four ($34.99) or eight ($64.99)) feature jumbo chicken strips, award-winning creamy mac & cheese, kid-friendly crispy thin fries, and green beans and bacon. Order: online.

  • Love Handle: Brickyard Biscuits & Gravy Family Meal (serves four-six). Order: Call restaurant.

  • Rooster’s Kitchen & Centerpoint Brewing: Beer Can Chicken Pack ($45) features one whole Becker Farms pasture-raised, brined, and marinated chicken served with hand-made picnic-style potato salad and a six pack + one can El Gato Mexican Lager from Centerpoint Brewery. Or, if the grill is calling, try the All American Burger Griller Pack ($40) featuring four patties, Amelia's buns, toppings galore, and a six pack of El Gato Mexican Lager from Centerpoint Brewery.   • Shoefly Public House: Build your own BBQ family meal with choices including smoked half chicken, Korean Cut Short Ribs, Sirloin Flap Steak, and more. Order: Pre-order via email.

  • Traders Point Creamery: BBQ dinner featuring pulled pork, braised greens, mac and cheese, and more. Serves four. Order: Pre-order online with pick up available May 21-23.

  • Weber Grill: The Indy 500 Burger & Rib Sampler Grill Pack ($59.95) includes four beef patties, brioche buns, Wisconsin cheddar cheese, two full racks of baby back ribs, and one bottle of Weber Classic BBQ seasoning for yfor you to grill to your liking. Weber also has a ready-to-eat meal ($69) that includes a choice of salmon or smoked pork chop and choice of two sides. Order online.

  • The Northside Social: Order your Indy 500 feast from The Northside Social and look forward to chicken with Sorghum Rhubarb BBQ, grilled asparagus and corn, and, of course, a Winners Drink Milk Buttermilk Pie. Call restaurant.

Track Beverages

  • Bier Brewery (1): Since 2017, Bier has produced an American lager that is ideal for a day at the track. Grab a six-pack of the light, crisp tribute to the month of May for $10.99 at either location.

  • Daniel’s Family Vineyard & Winery (2): Four wines at Daniel’s honor the race: The Finish Wine (rosé in cans), Racing Red (semi-dry Estate red), Winner’s White (semi-sweet white wine blend), and Racing Rosé (sweet, light-bodied rosé blend). Available curbside or delivery.

  • Miller Lite: Enjoy a refreshing can or bottle of Miller Lite, a classic choice for any porch party and the official beer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

  • Easley Winery: Two special wines celebrate May: Back Home White and Back Home Red. Both are food friendly and perfect for an afternoon on the porch. In addition, you can pick up Kauffman’s 76 and Sweet Barrel White for $7 at curbside.

  • Four Day Ray: Ray’s Lager, a crisp brew, is available for $9.99 in a six-pack. The beer is a tribute to Ray Keech, winner of the 1929 Indy 500. Order FDR’s food, beer, and wine for curbside carryout.

  • Guggman Haus: On the grounds of Boyle Racing Headquarters, home to three-time Indy 500 winner Wilbur Shaw and other famous teams, Guggman Haus embraces the location’s history with core beers like Wilbur’s Prize Pilsner and Winner’s Milk Jug Stout. As for porching, try Everyday Vacay, Backyard Beach, or Haus Holiday for carryout.

  • Sun King: Crossing the finish line is Delayed Start, a raceday lager. Find it on draft and look for it in four-packs for $10 in the coming weeks. Stop by any location for carry out.

  • Indy 500-Themed Spotify Playlist: Surround yourself with the sounds of the Speedway. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway put together an Indy 500-themed Spotify playlist to help you celebrate.

  • Games: Nothing says May like enjoying good times with friends. Though the main event has been rescheduled for August, you can still join in the fun of the Indy 500 with these Indianapolis Motor Speedway-inspired virtual puzzles, Indy 500-themed Mad Libs, 500 Festival coloring pages, and classic lawn games like bags and bocce ball.

  • "Back Home Again": Beginning at 2 pm on May 24, NBC will be streaming a special Indy 500 broadcast to commemorate past races and celebrate the upcoming August 23 Indy 500. Tune into “Back Home Again” for re-runs from previous years and special commentary.
