Explore Indy Trails Through Google Maps

Raise your hand if you’ve ever booked gorgeous accommodations only to step out of your Uber to discover it’s across the street from a shady gas station? Yeah, me too.

Whenever I research a potential travel spot, I always check out the neighborhood terrain pre-trip via Google Maps Street View. It’s an incredible tool that provides me with the comfort of knowing what to expect, rather than just crossing your fingers based on an unfamiliar address.

One drawback of Google Maps research: the camera often ends when the car-accessible road stops. Well, that’s no longer the case here in Indy.

Visit Indy partnered with Google Maps to photograph popular trails, greenways, and parks. Google provided equipment, and we found a willing local to walk nine major trail routes in the Circle City. The results are now uploaded to Google Maps, ready for you to drop a pin and explore!
