"David Plunkert–The Visual Communi-gator" is Herron's first in a new ongoing series of exhibitions focusing on today's best illustrators and graphic designers.
With clients such as Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Capital Records, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks and Krispy Kreme, Plunkert's work has earned him recognition as one of the most innovative illustrators. "The Visual Communi-gator" shows his uniquely engaging vision through a variety of illustrations and studies, including a recent digital piece created for #COMBATCOVID, the city-wide public art campaign of Poster House in New York City.
"David Plunkert–The Visual Communi-gator" will remain on view in the Basile Gallery until March 13 and will also be available online as a virtual 360-degree tour. The Herron Galleries will be closed to the public during IUPUI's online instruction period from Nov. 21 to Feb. 8.
A virtual reception with the exhibiting artist will take place on Zoom from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12. To participate, register in advance at go.iu.edu/3jwD or watch the livestream at facebook.com/HerronGalleries.
Herron's exhibitions in Eskenazi Hall, 735 W. New York St., are free of charge and open to the public from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with the exception of the online instruction period.
