Celebrate Love, This June and Year Round

JUNE 13, 2022

Love is love here in the Circle City. From Indy advocates in our LGBTQ+ community to special events promoting Indy Pride, Inc., our city comes together to celebrate the Hoosier hospitality mantra of “Indy Welcomes All.”  Over the weekend, tens of thousands gathered on Massachusetts Avenue and at Military Park to express their identity, individuality, and love. Keep the festivities going this June and year-round with these local businesses that uplift #LoveIndy Pride.

1. Penn & Beech Candle Co.

A local candle shop known for custom blends and pour-your-own-experiences, Penn & Beech Candle Co. introduced this year’s Pride candle, Free to Be Yuzu. These eight-ounce soy candles are hand-poured in Indy and feature the scents of red fruits, the tart citrus of Yuzu, and sweet bubbly Champagne. Twenty-five percent of each candle’s proceeds support Indy Pride, so snag a Free to Be Yuzu blend now through the end of June.

Built on a mission to accelerate literacy for adults and families, this Fountain Square local bookstore wears many hats here in the Circle City. Indy Reads connects with the community with special programming and by offering seasonal collections for city-wide celebrations. With an LGBTQ+ section, Indy Reads is dedicated to uplift queer authors and stories this Pride Month.

5. Hotel Tango

This veteran-owned distillery is an Indy favorite for grabbing a craft cocktail. Featuring a Pride Vodka to celebrate this June, Hotel Tango is supporting the LGBTQ+ military community. Proceeds from the 2022 Pride Vodka support the Modern Military Association, the country’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to advancing fairness and equality for the LGBTQ+ military and veteran community. Order a bottle here, and put on Hotel Tango’s curated Spotify playlist that mirrors the beats played during the 2022 Indy Pride Parade while you sip.
