This holiday, you can celebrate Dr. King’s legacy with free admission at many Indy attractions.

Special features on Monument Circle to celebrate MLK Day as part of Downtown Indy, Inc.'s Shining A Light program.

The Madam Walker Legacy Center's 41st MLK Day of Celebration speaker will be Time 100’s award-winning social justice leader and movement strategist, Tamika D. Mallory.

Designed by Greg Perry, who created the piece in 1996 with sculptor Daniel Edwards, this artwork reflects Kennedy's call for justice, non-violence and reconciliation, the sculpture portrays Kennedy and King reaching out to one another across a wide (but not insurmountable) gulf.

Free Admission at Local Attractions

Experience inspirational programming throughout the day and take part in the joy of community at Conner Prairie. This year, the MLK Day celebrations include the pledge to BE Love, featuring winning essays by students exploring Dr. King's legacy.

The Indianapolis Zoo will once again host a MLK Day Celebration that includes both free admission with a donation and parking. Monetary donations will be accepted and benefit Gleaner’s Food Bank.

The stunning Indiana State Museum along the Central Canal Indiana State Museum

The Indiana State Museum will also offer free admission with donation on MLK Day again this year. In lieu of canned goods and non-perishable food items, visitors are encouraged to make monetary donations of any amount via Dip Jars to Gleaners Food Bank.
