Now that “the world’s largest Christmas tree” is illuminating Monument Circle, we can officially say the holiday season has arrived in Indy.

To help you get in the holiday spirit, we’ve put together this list of holiday-themed concerts happening across Indy throughout the month of December, from stadium-sized rock shows to intimate jazz functions.

 

AES Indiana Yuletide Celebration

Dec. 2-23, Hilbert Circle Theatre

Details: Emmy-nominated singer Frankie Moreno and the musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will perform new holiday music as well as beloved favorites, with a slew of special guests.

Pentatonix – A Christmas Spectacular

Dec. 6, Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Details: Internationally acclaimed a cappella group Pentatonix makes a stop in Indy as part of their latest multi-city U.S. tour, performing songs from their many holiday albums.

 

Holiday Big Band Series

Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20, The Jazz Kitchen

Details: The Jazz Kitchen presents three big band-themed holiday concerts across three Tuesdays in December, with performances from JoySwing Jazz Orchestra, Serenade Jazz Orchestra and GM Horns Big Band.

Straight No Chaser – The 25th Anniversary Celebration

Dec. 10-11 (four shows), Murat Theatre at Old National Centre

Details: Formed during the 1996-1997 school year at Indiana University, chart-topping a cappella group Straight No Chaser continues their tradition of performing in Indianapolis during the holiday season. This time around, the group’s visit to Indy also happens to be part of their 25th anniversary tour, making the shows even more special.

 

Holiday on the Ave

Dec. 10 and Dec. 16, Madam Walker Legacy Center

Details: The historic Madam Walker Legacy Center hosts a pair of unique holiday concert experiences in mid-December, including a Holiday Soul Revue on Saturday, Dec. 10, as well as a holiday-themed concert with Indianapolis native and pop/R&B instrumentalist B. Thompson on Friday, Dec. 16.

 

‘Tis the Season: The Beach Boys feat. the Holiday Vibrations Orchestra

Dec. 13, Murat Theatre at Old National Centre

Details: The Beach Boys featuring Mike Love and Bruce Johnston make their way to the Murat Theatre as part of a special holiday tour, performing selections from the band’s classic 1964 holiday album. 

 

Brenda Williams – Holiday Magic

Dec. 14, The Jazz Kitchen

Details: Indianapolis-based jazz singer Brenda Williams presents a delightful night full of holiday magic.

 

for King & Country – A Drummer Boy Christmas

Dec. 15, Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Details: After releasing their holiday album A Drummer Boy Christmas in 2020, Australian Christian pop duo for King & Country makes their way to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, performing holiday tunes  as well as selections from their recently released Billboard Top 200 record What Are We Waiting For? 

 

Indianapolis Children’s Choir presents “Gloria”

Dec. 16-Dec. 18 (four shows), Second Presbyterian Church

Details: Join ICC for Gloria, as their various choirs share stories of joy.

 

Holiday Sing-A-Long featuring Wendy Reed

Dec. 21, The Jazz Kitchen

Details: Indy-based vocalist Wendy Reed leads attendees in singing their favorite holiday songs as part of this Jazz Kitchen tradition.

Dec. 22, Murat Theatre in Old National Centre

Details: Country a cappella group Home Free visits the Murat Theatre as part of this special holiday tour, which will also feature Texas Hill and Brooke Eden as opening acts.
